Flatbush Zombies Drop ‘Glorious Thugs’ and Announce Album

After a mixtape, a gang of features, numerous loosies, and a ton of impatience from their fans the Flatbush Zombies have announced their first album.

Along with the drop of this track, the zombies have made it known that their first album titled 3001: A Laced Odyssey will be released on 3/11. They’ve had their fans grabbing at every track and snippet dropped over the past two years, since they were hooked by the zombies’ first tape Better Off Dead. The group caught people’s attention thanks to their boisterous and weird style. The combination of Meech and Juice on a track hit that Ying Yang type of balance. Props also go to Erik for creating production that serviced both these radically different emcees, allowing Juice and Meech to focus on their own flows while the beat would tie them together.

With this new track, the zombies pay homage to both Biggie and Bone Thugs, bending their own flows to mimic both artists. It comes off really well and doesn’t feel gimmicky, which one might expect from referencing past artists. The emcees don’t fully sacrifice their sound and the end result is this great gumbo of old and new. Whether or not this is a sound choice they will continue on their upcoming album, it’s worth looking out for.
