Film Lovers and Foodies Unite at Cathédrale for Ultimate Feast

This was the happiest ending of a dinner that ended with credits rolling in minds forever of the most delectable meal of the season.

The “Taste of Things” experience at Cathédrale in Moxy East Village was exquisite. Recreated in a stunning vision of the menu from the award-winning film “The Taste of Things,” Executive Chef Jason Hall brought to life the joys and truly delicious moments of the honored film. Transformed into a rustic French countryside, the restaurant was illuminated by candlelight and showcased a stunning four-course meal inspired by the movie.

The Pot-au-Feu tasting menu at Cathédrale included a perfect First Course of Canapes “Trio” with Soft scrambled egg tartine with carp roe, Oysters with Caviar and Mimosa and Green Pea Veloute. The perfectly seasoned Second Course of Guinea Hen Breast with Black Truffles, Savoy Cabbage, and Sauce Supreme enlightened the senses with soothing tastes.

Third Course of “Pot-Au-Feu” of Pheasant, Beef Shortribs, Sweetbread Crepinette, Winter Vegetable Consommé was constructed with sophistication that did not intimidate. You only wanted to bask in the warmness of the meal. Then the delightful Fourth Course of “Pears & Cream” dark chocolate and almond nougatine along with a tableside serving of miniature Baked Alaska delighted the room.

It was a night that simply elevated and united the love for food and film.  The “Taste of Things” Experience at Cathédrale will host a more intimate iteration in their private dining room coming this summer.
