Fall Fitness Challenge With Christian Castano [Week Six]

The weeks are counting down. These past few days a real change in body shape started to take place. I have began to pull out clothes that have been hiding in the back of my closet for the last year.

Those super cool red Uniqlo jeans almost come up past my hips, and my vintage Vera Wang dress is getting closer to zipping. But, we still have two more weeks to go. The battle is on to win the war in getting in shape.

In the final pushes we sat down with celebrity Trainer Christian Castano to discuss some important factors to losing weight the right way.

Starting a workout regimen can be difficult. Every client has a different need. Some want to loose weight while others want to bulk up. How do you know what is right for that individual?

There are a lot of different approaches. Fitness is the body’s way of accommodating to the stress that is being put on it. The body has to learn to adopt to a different feeling that is being put on it when you begin to workout. You have people that are not into sports. Most of the people who come to me come to look good. I study body language. When I see a new client walk into a room it immediately helps me to understand what they need to improve their fitness. My education and philosophy allows me to study the human body quickly. For example, if someone walks in slumping and with their back curved it most likely means they lack confidence and are insecure. I want to take that person and build their mind up and their body by focusing on certain muscles in their upper body. It is my philosophy that you can change a person’s overall mental well being by focusing on their body.

Once you get past the first few workouts your body can be sore and you might want to throw in the towel. How do you keep clients coming back for more?

Women have a tendency to get bored with workouts. They have to keep motivated and they have to feel like the workout is fun. You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. So much of getting in shape is mental. I am here to support that. We have to work together to keep your mind active and eager. The first few weeks are tough, but stopping is not the solution. You will not change your body if you do not try and push your limits.

There is an art form to working out with you. It is not just about sweating it out and eating fewer calories correct?

Yes, I consider myself an artist. I think there is so much you can do in a healthy way to look like a work of art. You have to think of the human body as a sculpture. A great piece of art takes focus and time to complete. But, it can be done. I believe you can do it.

And, we are doing it. Here is to the final few weeks of the Fall Fitness Challenge and fitting back into those skinny jeans.
