Fairweather Magazine Hosts Fun Summer Soiree

On Wednesday, August 26th, The Knockturnal attended Fairweather Magazine’s Summer Soiree at the Hotel Americano to celebrate the magazine’s summer 2015 edition.

Fairweather is a quarterly magazine with both print and digital editions that focus on art, fashion, philanthropy and business.

Guests sipped on wine and Peroni while tasting passed horderves and of course posing for the photobooth. A portion of the ticket sales from the party went towards Charity Water, a non-profit organization that helps provide clean drinking water for people in developing nations. There was also a silent auction to benefit Charity Water that included items like dinner for two at American Cut, a 1 year Fairweather member access membership, and a 1 night stay at the Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton.

We spotted Weber Shandwick’s Arielle Patrick on the scene and chatted with the magazine’s founder Alexandra Fairweather. Read our interview with Alexandra below:

The Knockturnal: So tell us what inspired you to start this magazine?

Alexandra: I always loved telling stories and when I was 14 I started making documentary films and working with my step father John Chamberlain the artist, increased my level of interest in telling stories and that’s when Eric and I decided to launch the magazine.

The Knockturnal: What were some of the difficulties you faced when you initially launched Fairweather?

Alexandra: Neither of us had any experience in publishing. His background is finance and mine is in art and film so I think it ended up being refreshing because we brought an innovative twist to the magazine.

The Knockturnal: What is the one thing you would new readers to know about Fairweather?

Alexandra: That’s it really about going after your dreams and living stylishly, smart and having passion
