The Fall 2020 Badgley Mischka show presented an array of Edwardian silhouettes such as bustle sleeves and renaissance bodices contrasted by contemporary styles consisting of plaid embellished suit sets.
Evening wear gowns emphasized historical styles through the use of novelty fabrics and silhouettes. Lace was overlayed with lightweight chiffon allowing a slight glimpse of the floral patterns below. The combination of intricate beading and silk tassels allowed for a contemporary take on historical styles. Deep red velvet sleeves accompanied with bows brought a lavish Victorian essence to the collection, while lace blouses, high neck pleated cotton collars, and A-symmetric gowns reframed the classic Badgley Mischka notions. The signature tulle gowns had a modern aesthetic and vintage style beading and embellishments providing further insight into the collection’s inspiration and roots. The black and white 60s’ inspired looks appeared to be a play on the LBD with several strands of pearls around the model in combination with white collars and cuffs. Bustling beaded trench coats accompanied with white pants displayed the classic meets modern mindset this collection embued. Mix match animal prints were also a focal point with misplaced leopard spots and colors spread across the fabrics in an intriguing print format.
