Starz has introduced the new series Power Book 2: Ghost, the spin off of hit show Power and with a brand-new series comes new faces including LaToya Tonodeo.
Tonodeo joins the cast as Diana Tejada, the daughter of queen pin Monet Tejada [Mary J. Blige]. Power, created by Courtney Kemp and executive produced by Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson quickly became a fan favorite with viewers becoming deeply immersed in the twisted, drama filled narrative. With the show’s shocking ending, fans were left hungry for more, including day one fan, LaToya Tonodeo.
“Power is one of my favorite shows, like I even have it on a vision board from 2017,” Tonodeo explains after hearing she received a callback for Power Book 2: Ghost. After a rather welcoming audition environment, Tonodeo was thrilled to learn she got the part and not only would she be joining the Powerverse which she had been manifesting, she was also going to be playing alongside the legendary Mary J. Blige. “She is super cool, super humble, she makes coming to work super easy,” Tonodeo describes of her castmate. The show has already premiered with a great reception and just from episode one, fans are already speculating about the Tejada family and if Monet [Mary J. Blige] will be the new woman in charge.
Unlike the St. Patrick’s there is no tip toeing around the family business, “we all can possess that power because we know what’s going on. We don’t have to walk in the shadows,” explains Tonodeo. And with the Tejada family all on the same page, do the St. Patrick’s stand a chance? Well in true Power fashion, Power Book 2: Ghost is going to bring some interesting twists and turns and we’ll just have to tune in every Sunday to see how it all unfolds.
The Knockturnal had an exclusive interview with Powerverse newbie, LaToya Tonodeo so be sure to check it out!
