Exclusive: The Mxxnlight Talk New Music With Wiz Khalifa, Collaborative Project With Roy Woods & Unreleased Music With Megan Thee Stallion

Get to know The MXXNLIGHT and what they’ve got in store for fans!

Identical twin singers Akash & Krish Chandani are better known by their stage names Kush & LUV, forming the popular yet underrated duo TheMXXNLIGHT. The two brothers were born in the U.S. to Indian parents who immigrated to the United States before they were born, but the two naturally incorporate elements from their upbringing and culture into their music like it’s second nature. The California- based artists’ smooth R&B vocals combined with their Indian flare has set them apart from other artists in the industry, so much so that Megan Thee Stallion herself even requested the duo add their signature Desi elements to their unreleased collaborative track.

Kush & LUV attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where they graduated with degrees in Industrial Systems Engineering. In addition to their studies, Kush & LUV recorded music daily in their dorm rooms eventually catching the attention of Wiz Khalifa’s in-house producer Slegdren. The chemistry Wiz & The MXXNLIGHT had was so undeniable that Wiz featured the brothers on 3 different tracks on Rolling Papers 2: “Homework,” “All of a Sudden” and “Mr. Williams.” The MXXNLIGHT ‘s friendship and brotherhood with Slegdren opened many doors for them and they went on to collaborate with artists like TM88, Roy Woods, Megan Thee Stallion, and Wiz Khalifa, again on two of his other tracks and most recently Wiz was featured on The MXXNLIGHT’s latest single and music video for “Naughty or Nice.” The brothers have almost come full circle and look forward to their fans hearing their unreleased collaborations. Find out more about how some of these collaborations came about in our exclusive interview above.
