We been waiting, and our thirst is finally quenched.
Yes, there’ve been 462 international versions of Drag Race since the last American season wrapped up, but there’s nothing like the OG drag Olympics. And if ‘Meet the Queens’ and my obsessive IG stalking are any indication, these queens are bringing another level of excellence to our screens this season. Truly popping the corns and feeding the children.
Big personalities and bodacious looks were on the menu during our zoom sitdown; Daya Betty, Bosco, Alyssa Hunter and Kerri Colby in particular came ready to wear the girls out. They’re all so candid, too; they spilled entrance secrets, hinted at a rollercoaster of a season, and were frank about what they knew they slayed, and what they…did not. Nothing more relatable than the truth!
I haven’t been this excited for a drag race season in a long time, and I watch ALL of them. I know folks’ talk about burnout, but baby if this is burnout, I don’t wanna feel rested. This show reminds me of the power of femininity, the genre-breaking, multi-media power of drag, and the resilience of the human spirit. It really don’t get no better.
