Exclusive: Rachel Brosnahan, Natasha Leggero, Bess Kalb, Patti Harrison Talks Amazon’s Comedy Special ‘Yearly Departed’ [Video]

“If anyone was going to get the last word of this sh*t storm of the year, it was going to be a group of hilarious women.”

Dearly beloved, we gather here to say our goodbyes to the year 2020, (finally).

From a global pandemic to murder hornets, we can finally lay this year to rest with the help of some of the world’s funniest female comedians.

Amazon Prime’s one-hour comedy special, “Yearly Departed,” features stars like Tiffany Haddish, Sarah Silverman, Phoebe Robinson, and more, who bid farewell to one horrific year. Each comedian presents a eulogy about topics we can finally say goodbye to in 2020, from casual sex to beige Band-Aids, and the list goes on.

“The Knockturnal” sat down exclusively with Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), one of many talented executive producers on the special, head writer Bess Kalb, comedians Natasha Leggero, and Patti Harrison.

“[We couldn’t] believe this [idea] hadn’t already been done on a platform like this, and have never maybe needed it more than ever in 2020. We were fortunate enough to bring it to Amazon, who was equally excited about it,” Brosnahan said. “We have found partners who have done these crazy COVID productions and were the experts we needed in the room. It was an incredibly collaborative process, and an incredible team that brought this entire special to life.”

“Yearly Departed” will premiere on Prime Video on December 30.
