Rachael Leigh Cook, Damon Wayans Jr., and Heather Graham headline Netflix’s romantic comedy about a kind-hearted, lonely lawyer (Cook) and her new high-profile client: A man who’s been on one thousand dates looking for love (Wayans). I asked for advice on Zoom dates and was not disappointed.
“Here’s the thing: find a good wifi connection. OR if it’s bad, go away from the wifi and start faking like it’s breaking up and then you can just get off,” said Wayans.
‘I feel like you just invented the new ‘can you hear me now’,” joked Cook.
Graham stars as the faux-spiritual head of the dating agency, someone more interested in making bank than on wielding Cupid’s arrow. She was frank about the benefits of Zoom dates: “I mean you’re not wasting your time; you don’t have to sit through a whole dinner,” she said. “I think it’s so scary to go out on these dates, but you know, people are brave to do it.”
