Exclusive: Peter Hermann, Molly Bernard, Miriam Shor, Nico Tortorella, & Charles Michael Davis Talk ‘Younger’ Season 6 [Video]

The cast of “Younger” sits down with The Knockturnal’s Andre Phillips to discuss season 6, premiering tomorrow, June 12 at 10pm ET on TV Land.

Actors Peter Hermann, Charles Michael Davis, and Miriam Shor chatted about what’s in store for their characters, especially with Hilary Duff’s Kelsey recent appointment as the new head of Empirical Press publishing. “What’s great about our show is that we tend to show women supporting each other instead of women just being catty and fighting,” Shor explained, citing her character Diana Trout’s adjustment to having Kelsey as her boss. “I feel like more often than not when you watch the evolution of these relationships you end up seeing they become friends and support each other, and I value that.”

Castmates Nico Tortorella and Molly Bernard also spoke about the workplace dynamic this season. “I think ‘Younger’ has done a really good job of keeping a finger on the pulse of the world, and this season really celebrates women in a new way, given the fact that Kelsey is the boss of Empirical,” Tortorella mused.

As for his character Josh, Tortorella teased the cliffhanger ending of last season’s unexpected pregnancy. “There may be a father situation coming into play, but we don’t know who that daddy is,” Tortorella said. “Josh has just tried to take care of someone or something for the last five seasons, and that might just happen.”

Bernard’s character, Lauren, also has a new role at Empirical as she begins working for the Millennial imprint. With the latest career shifts at Empirical, the leading characters of the show are expected to tackle what sadly many working real-world women face: gender inequality in the workplace. “I feel like this show began as a show about ageism and this season, because Liza’s [Sutton Foster] lie is out in a different way, it kind of becomes less about ageism and more about sexism,” Bernard said.
