Back in 1989, TV would never be the same when the beloved sitcom “Saved By The Bell” was brought to our screens for the very first time.
The iconic series followed the ever so loved protagonist Zack Morris as he led his friends on adventures at California’s Bayside High School. The gang navigated relationships, final exams, school dances, breakups, and more while entertaining viewers every week. Over 30 years later, the original cast is bringing us just what 2020 needs, a trip down memory lane in the form of an all-new series following the Bayside High School kids, all grown up! Zack and his high school sweetheart Kelly now have a son named Mac, played by Mitchell Hoog.
Mitchell captures the spirit of Saved By The Bell in this all-new immersive role, one that is so different from his on-screen dad while still exploring themes from the original show. The all-new series follows Zack, who is now the Governor of California, as he has just gotten into some hot water for closing way too many high schools in low-income areas, leaving the students with nowhere to go. As a result, he suggests relocating those students to the highest-performing schools in the state, including Bayside High School, where his son Mac attends. We got the chance to sit down with Mitchell to talk all about the new show! Check it out above.
