Hulu’s lineup of original hits has received a popular new addition with the new high school dramedy “Love, Victor.”
A spin-off of 2018 hit film Love, Simon, The series follows Victor Salazar, a new arrival at Creekwood High School
Mason Gooding plays Andrew, a basketball star who is Creekwood High School royalty and doesn’t necessarily take a liking to new kid Victor. Gooding signed on to the project shortly after appearing in another high school hit, the 2019 comedy film Booksmart. Despite playing a heartthrob on the big screen and a classic jock on the small, Gooding insists that his performances don’t rely on his own real-experience.
The Knockturnal got the chance to speak with the up-and-coming star, who explored how his not so cinematic high school experience lends to his work now. Gooding also discussed what it’s like to releasing a show during a pandemic, and possibilities for his character in season 2. View the full conversation above!
