Exclusive: Livia De Paolis, Parker Sawyers, and Julian Ovenden Talk New Film ‘The Lost Girls’ [Video]

Livia De Paolis brings a fresh take on Peter Pan to life on screen in ‘The Lost Girls.’

The Lost Girls tells the story of four generations of Darling women as they deal with the aftermath of their adventures with Peter Pan in Neverland.

Livia De Paolis serves as writer and director while also starring as Wendy. Parker Sawyers and Julian Ovenden co-star alongside Emily Carey, Ella-Rae Smith, and Louis Partridge.

The film explores a variety of themes from a female perspective, including everything from complicated relationships to complex interactions with one’s emotions. As Wendy tries desperately to escape Pan’s hold on her and the promise he desperately wants her to keep, things get complicated when Pan learns of Wendy’s daughter Berry. Wendy then must fight to save her relationship with Berry while reconciling her own legacy.

“I was really drawn to the book,” De Paolis said of adapting Laurie Fox’s novel The Lost Girls on screen.

Filmed in London during a lockdown respite, the cast was excited and eager to work following a time when it was unclear whether or not film production would ever return.

See The Lost Girls starting June 17.
