Exclusive: Lenny Santos, Max Agende of Aventura & Vena Talk Monster Headphones Partnership

Chase Sapphire Preferred presented The New York premiere of “Southpaw” last week.

We caught up with two of the founding members of world famous bachata group Aventura to discuss their new group Vena and their collaboration with Monster Headphones. Lenny Santos and Max Agende attended the special screening of the film with Monster’s CEO Noel Lee who rolled down the red carpet on his Segway. Monster headphones are featured prominently in the film as Jake Gyllenhaal wears them when prepping for a boxing match.

Read what they had to say below:

Tell us about your new Monster collaboration.

Lenny: Thanks to Noel, Noel’s creation of Monster Headphones and he’s now coming out with new brands into the Latin community and we’re one of those ambassadors who will represent the Latin movement and the youth movement in the United States and all over the world. He brought it to us and we said of course, and we started collaborating on implementing our sounds and pre-settings into the headphones that Monster is about to launch early next year, so we’re here supporting Southpaw where Monster headphones are in the movie.

What else are you working on?

Lenny: Right now we have our own separate project called Vena, “Vain” in English, and it’s coming out early fall this year and early next year Aventura is going to reunite and do a tour all over the world.

Max: All of the fans get ready, a lot of big things coming, we’re making history. Shout out to Noel Lee and Monster. This is something for us: Caribbean, South American, Mexicanos. Monster headphones have always been popular in the English market, now we’re finally bringing it into the Latin market and it’s an honor to represent that and be the first to being it out.

You have achieved global success from humble New York roots. Speak about that.

Max: It’s amazing. You just learn to appreciate everything you have because it’s definitely not easy, but I’m happy to say I’m an example, if you go for your  dream you can make it. We came from the South Bronx and Dominican parents and we made it. Thank God and thanks to the fans!

How is it like to work with such an amazing group?

Noel: This group is incredible because we want to expand our horizons. When we did Beats By Dre, it was more urban and more hip-hop and we really want to reach out into the Hispanic and Latin American audience and there’s no better band, no better known band than Aventura and Vena!

Other notables who joined 50 Cent, Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, Oona Laurence, Naomie Harris and Miguel Gomez at the premiere included Jay Z, Eminem, Tyson Beckford, Dascha Polanco and Selenis Leyva. The after-party was at 40/40 club. The film is now playing.
