Exclusive: Eric Petersen Talks New AMC Series “Kevin Can F**k Himself” [Video]

The recipe for a typical sitcom is, at its very base, relatively simple.

Using multi-camera technology, we see one side of a room as well as one side of the characters inside of it. Situational comedies are just that, situational, as the situation tends to change each week but the characters remain exactly the same.

Viewers who tune into the all-new AMC series “Kevin Can F**k Himself” will find just this recipe for the first few minutes, and one might believe that this series follows that exact recipe. The laugh tracks and the stereotypical humor follow suit, creating the illusion that makes us all feel at home in front of our TVs. However, as soon as protagonist Allison leaves the room, we see that this is not the case at all. It’s a series full of dark fantasies, camera switches, overtly obnoxious laugh tracks, and twins that nobody will see coming. It’s truly a series unlike any other and Eric Peterson’s Kevin truly ties it all together as the loveable sitcom’s husband. We see an almost self-awareness come through within the characters and it’s brilliant to see just how striking that behind the camera look at a character can be. We sat down with Eric to talk all about this brilliantly unique series. Check out the full conversation above!
