Deadpool & Wolverine is a highly anticipated film, with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman teaming up for the thrilling Marvel film.
The film is action-packed, filled with humor, and dives into the story of an unlikely friendship coming together to defeat a common enemy. Actor Emma Corrin will play the villainess Cassandra Nova. Their character is known in the Marvel Universe as Charles Xavier’s sister from the well-known X-Men franchise.
“Do I want to study them too closely? I was maybe worried about copying something, but I found them very inspiring,” Corrin shared while watching the performances of Charles Xavier done by Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy.
“I did see a script, but I only saw the script after I signed my life away on the dotted line that I would play Cassandra,” shared Corrin. Marvel has a reputation for keeping information very discrete, so actors are sometimes unaware of who they’re being paired with until post-production.
Emma kindly shared that wasn’t the case for them. Corrin revealed that playing Cassandra will cause the audience to sympathize with the villain. After learning the origin of the Cassandra Nova there is a sense of compassion for her actions.
“Ryan’s mind is really unique; I never encountered anything like that before,” said Emma. As expected, it was disclosed that there was nothing but high energy on the set of Deadpool & Wolverine. Emma experienced adjusting to being flexible as an actor and being able to pivot to spontaneous new directions on set. The light-hearted film allows Cassandra Nova to bring a lot to the table with twists and turns.
You’ll find yourself edging out of your seat when watching the film on the big screen. Deadpool & Wolverine will be available to watch in theaters on July 26th, 2024.
