Exclusive: Emily Hampshire, Jason Filardi, Peter Filardi & Donald De Line Discuss New Show ‘Chapelwaite’ [Video]

Jason Filardi, Peter Filardi, and Donald De Line serve as Executive Producers of the new Epix show ‘Chapelwaite’ starring Adrien Brody and Emily Hampshire.

Chapelwaite is set in the 1850s and is based on Stephen King’s short story “Jerusalem’s Lot.” The show follows Brody’s character Captain Charles Boone and his three children as they move to his ancestral home in a sleepy Maine town following the death of his wife at sea.

“We’d always wanted to do a New England story,” Peter Filardi said of the inspiration to create Chapelwaite. “This seemed like a great thing where we could sort of marry our own ideas with Mr. King’s and build out what he had created and just make a really rich, authentic New England tale of terror.”

Hampshire plays Rebecca, a character she explains as being “a modern woman of the 1850s.” Rebecca returns home from college and is experiencing writer’s block until the arrival of Captain Boone and his children inspires her. She decides to apply to be governess of the Boone home, the infamous Chapelwaite manor, in an effort to learn about the family and write about them.

Amidst terror and horror, a mystery becomes apparent as the story evolves throughout the ten episodes.

Chapelwaite premieres August 22 at 10:00 PM ET/PT on Epix.
