Exclusive: ‘De Brutas Nada’ Star Tessa Ía Discusses Mexico City and Power of Friendship [Video]

“De Brutas Nada,” is a comedy-drama “dramedy”, that takes place in Mexico City starring Mexican actress Tessa Ía. The show highlights the cosmopolitan nature of the Mexican capital as well as the diversity of it. 

The show begins with Cristina, played by Tessa Ía, preparing to get married; however, her dream wedding quickly becomes a nightmare when she finds her fiance cheating on her the night before the wedding. After her world becomes turned upside down she learns to rely on herself and her friendships in order to move on from her breakup and become the best version of herself.

Actress Tessa  Ía discusses the show with pride, not just about the show, but how in many ways she and her co-stars were able to pay homage to her city. The show also offers something different for audiences used to Spanish television being in the form of a telenovela. The show resembles many popular comedic dramas in the states and in Europe such as American show New Girl and French show Plan Coeur. 

Tessa herself was born to be an actress. She is the daughter of telenovela star Nailea Norvind and the granddaughter of actress Eva Norvind and she also is the sister of actress Naian Norvind. Acting and contributing to the art world of Mexico city is a part of the family’s legacy in Mexico and with De Brutas Nada Tessa is continuing it. She has been immersed into the art world and the creative community of Mexico City her entire life and with the show the world will be able to see the beauty and culture in Mexico City that Tessa has loved and appreciated her entire life. 

De Brutas Nada shows Mexico City and Latin American television in a different light. The show shows the beauty of self-love, friendship, and that the opportunity to love never disappears even after heartbreak
