Exclusive: Cast talks ‘Jack Ryan’ Season 2 at NYC Premiere [Video]

Jack Ryan is back for season two and it hasn’t lost any of its appeal! The action-political drama returns with a new storyline and a set of new characters that will leave fans craving for a third season from Amazon Prime Video.

The series was initially created by Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland. Aside from Cuse serving as executive producer, actor John Krasinski (Jack Ryan) alongside Michael Bay are also executive producers of the series. This gives John Krasinski more creative power as he also plays the lead role in the show. Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan is an action political thriller that has graced movie screens since the 1990’s with other notable actors taking on the role of Jack Ryan, such as: Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. This current Jack Ryan series, makes John Krasinski the fifth person to play the popular character- but with a new and modern twist unlike its previous movies.

In the first season of Jack Ryan, CIA analyst (John Krasinski) is confined to his desk job until he discovers a string of suspicious transactions that force him and his boss James Greer (Wendell Pierce) out from behind their desks in hopes that they will find the rising extremist that is becoming a powerful new threat to the world. However, in the second season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, CIA officer Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) heads down to South America to investigate a suspicious shipment of illegal arms in the Venezuelan jungle. As Jack’s investigation threatens to uncover a conspiracy in the midst of all the chaos, the situation takes a sweeping turn as an attack hits home for Jack and his team. This season the show takes viewers to a declining democratic regime in South America and all around the world- spanning the United States, UK, Russia and Venezuela as the storyline intensifies.

In addition to Krasinski, this new season of the dramatic series also stars Wendell Pierce (The Wire) as James Greer, Noomi Rapace (Prometheus) as Harriet ‘Harry’ Baumann and Michael Kelly (House of Cards) as Mike November. The second season was originally set to premiere on November 1st but instead was released a day earlier. Fans are now able to catch season two starting October 31st!
