Exclusive: AppleTV+ ‘Tehran’ Stars Niv Sultan and Shervin Alenabi Discuss Season Finale [Video]

Fan-favorite AppleTV+ spy series “Tehran” concludes its first season Friday, October 30th.

The eight-episode miniseries stars Niv Sultan as Mossad agent Tamar Rabinyan, who goes deep undercover on a mission in Tehran. Tamar is only supposed to be in Tehran for 24 hours but she quickly finds herself on the run after her mission is compromised. Shervin Alenabi costars as Iranian millennial Milad Kahani who urges Tamar to challenge her political beliefs and cultural assumptions. As Milad and Tamar grow closer, it’s unclear who is more in danger.
Actors Niv Sultan and Shervin Alenabi sat down via Zoom with The Knockturnal to reflect on the series ahead of its finale and share their hopes for a second season.

“I think what’s really fascinating is that I felt personally like ‘holy shit, the story is just beginning!'” Alenabi explains. “We’ve gone eight episodes but it’s only just started, in a way. I think I’m pretty satisfied [with the finale] but more excited.”

“I was more angry, like ‘no, you can’t finish it up like this. Not like this!” Sultan laughs. “I want to see more!”
While fans have to wait for the possible cliffhanger ending, check out below what Sultan and Alenabi have to say about filming in Athens, Greece, transforming into their characters—including learning Farsi!—and connecting with their fans.
The “Tehran” season finale streams on AppleTV+ on October 30th.
