Thursday night, Warner Bros. partnered with FIST FIGHT for an early premiere.
Along with the special showing, CollegeHumor brought several comedians to open for the film. Randy Syphax hosted, with featured performances by Matt Pavich, Luchana Gatica, and Mike Recine. There wasn’t much else beyond the entertainers, but there was free popcorn provided. Additionally, there were inflatable punching bags, with the faces of the FIST FIGHT actors.
The screener also started with a special appearance by FIST FIGHT star Ice Cube. “This is a great movie. I’m real proud of it,” said the actor. “We had fun shooting it, it’s more than you think. Some of y’all saying ‘Well, it’s gonna be a Fist Fight’… [but] it’s more than that.” For those unaware, the film follows two public school teachers, who get into a fight on the last day of school. It touches on many themes, primarily on the failings of the public school system. But for any more information, you’ll have to see it for yourself.
CollegeHumor shared the event on their Facebook page, via live feed. While you have to see FIST FIGHT in theaters (Feb. 17), you can watch the event here. FIST FIGHT comes out in theaters, and stars Ice Cube, along with Charlie Day, Jillian Bell, and Tracy Morgan.
