The documentary, inspired by the groundbreaking research of longevity scientist Dr. Valter Longo, brought together filmmakers, scientists, and wellness leaders for a night that spotlighted the growing conversation around nutrition, fasting, and healthy aging.

Narrated by Academy Award nominee Edward Norton and directed by fellow nominee Barry Brown, the film is produced by Chiara Tilesi of Frequency Production. Together, the trio bring cinematic weight to Longo’s decades of research into nutrition, fasting, and the biology of aging.

Inspired by Longo’s bestselling books and scientific discoveries as director of the USC Longevity Institute, the film offers a look at the role fasting and dietary interventions may play in extending healthy lifespan. Through expert interviews, rigorous scientific evidence, and moving patient testimonials, the documentary explores how metabolic resets and nutritional strategies might help prevent age-related diseases and transform the way modern medicine approaches aging itself.

The premiere was shown as part of the 21st edition of the Los Angeles Italia Film, Fashion and Art Fest, an annual cultural celebration presented with the support of the Italian Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles and the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles.

The evening also featured a lively Q&A featuring Longo alongside Norton, Brown, and Tilesi. Moderated by Anna Magzanyan, President of LA Times Studios, the conversation explored the intersection of film, science, and the growing global fascination with longevity research.

And festival chairperson Raffaella De Laurentiis presented the filmmaking team with the LA Italia Excellence Award, recognizing the documentary’s contribution to cultural dialogue around health and human longevity.

And what’s a film premiere without a pre-party? Earlier that night, the wellness community gathered at the elegant Library Bar inside The Hollywood Roosevelt. Nutrition science company L-Nutra hosted a VIP cocktail mixer honoring Longo, who also serves as the company’s founder and scientific advisor.

Attendees included Joseph Antoun, L-Nutra’s CEO, along with media figures and leaders from the wellness and lifestyle space.

All proceeds from this documentary will benefit Dr. Valter Longo’s Create the Cures foundation, committed to educating children about healthy nutrition and lifestyle and helping treat patients with advanced stage diseases, including those who cannot afford treatment.
