The Drama League Awards Announced

The 82nd Annual Drama League Awards each year honors the best theatrical productions.

The star-studded ceremony of the 82nd Annual Drama League Awards was held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square and hosted by Zachary Levi and Megan Hilty. The Drama League awarded Hamilton with Outstanding Production of a  Musical Awards,  The Humans with Outstanding Production of a Play, The Color Purple with Outstanding Revival of a Musical, A View From The Bridge with Outstanding Revival of a Play, and Lin-Manuel Miranda with Distinguished Performance Award.

Additionally, the legendary Sheldon Harnick was honored with the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theater Award; Deaf West Theatre was honored with the Unique Contribution to the Theater Award for their vital work; and Ivo van Hove was honored with the Founders Award for Excellence in Directing.

The Drama League Awards are the oldest theatrical honors in America. They are the only major theatergoer awards chosen by audience members — specifically, by the thousands of Drama League members nationwide who attend Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.
