We had a feeling it was going to be a good night…and it sure was. DKMS, the international non-profit dedicated to the fight against blood cancer, marked its 30th anniversary last night (October 29th, 2021) with a black-tie gala at Cipriani Downtown in New York.
Hosting the annual gala is one of many ways the non-profit aims to delete blood cancer. In order to continue the organization’s global, life-saving work many gather to celebrate the 30 years of registering millions of donors around the world.

Vera Wang explains she has been in attendance for around 20 years now and has nothing but respect for anyone who has dedicated themselves to saving lives. Wang, referring to the tireless work of Vice Chairwoman of Global Board DKMS, Katharina Harf, truly admires the passion and determination to delete blood cancer from the world.
“I’m so grateful for the tremendous support we received…Blood cancer has sadly touched many of our lives, including my own with the loss of my mother. Only together can we build a future where there is hope for all and we are grateful for everyone who joins us in this vital mission.” said by Harf.

In additon to the live fundraising auction hosted by Sotheby, Grammy-Award winners Black Eyed Peas, performed a dynamic set of their well-known hits to celebrate the beautiful gala.
DKMS runs the only laboratory that can take over 1 million new donors per year, as well as operating a stem cell clinical research unit that focuses on improving the outcome of stem cell transplantation worldwide. “The true genius of DKMS is that it’s deeply rooted in science,” CEO of Coty Sue Y. Nabi states.
The evening’s red carpet was sparkling with radiance, from beautiful red gowns to sharp suits, attendees were fully committed to the cause.
