Designer Nick Graham Presents His Spring Summer 2019 Collection ‘1969’ At The Cadillac House In New York

Nick Graham is man with an imaginative mind- whether it be in his use of innovative fabrics or his themed collections that propel onlookers into the depths of space.

This time around, it was “1969” that inspired his collection. “One of the transformational years in our history,” he said. “A year that had not only the first landing on the Moon by Apollo 11 and Woodstock, both pretty pivotal events in our culture”.

Season after season, Graham impresses audiences with his extensive showmanship and craftsmanship, while successfully incorporating an element of surprise for the Instagrammers and Snapchatters of the crowd.

Graham provided NYFW:M with an uplifting prelude to his show- something that everyone seemed to need, given the blistering heat this season. A choreographed dance routine put on by a group of young fashion week fans, the “Future Martians” paved the way for a light mood on the runway. Very rarely do we have the opportunity to see the models let loose and express themselves, so it was refreshing to see the Nick Graham guys give out some high fives during the final parade.

Post show, guests were invited to try two space themed cocktails and view the collection presentation style with the models on podiums.

Reflective jackets and full suits emblazoned with the NASA logo gave off a very “space blanket” vibe from the start, while still keeping in line with the sharp tailoring Graham is known for. Aside from the novelty items, the collection featured some truly beautiful pieces, notably the windowpane suit jackets and a burnt orange satin suit that stole the show.
