DeadEndHipHop Talks Streaming Services

Hip Hop discussion group DeadEndHipHop returns with another @AskDEHH episode hosted by Sophie (@sairemusic).

Music streaming has past any chance of nuance. In the present, new streaming softwares pop up quicker than struggle rappers. The main selling point at the moment seems to remain as “convenience” however artists’ financial concerns tend to be overlooked. Does that affect the art musicians put out? Should we care about how these services alter the music industries climate? What does it mean for independent artists? These are all questions DEHH seeks to answer in their usual open forum method.

When it comes to business decisions in the music industry, the only opinions that are given lip service come from millionaire artists toting chainlink deals with the record companies and businesses involved. Artists with strong fanbases who still have to struggle financially, and the fans themselves are often left without having a say. It’s important to support and respond to discussion platforms like DEHH where opinions are less shackled.

DEHH is no doubt an important variable in Hip Hop. Discussion and freedom of change has been the mother of change in the music industry for years. Make sure to check out more of DEHH and throw them some support at their website
