DC Fandome 2021’s Five Biggest Updates

Last Weekend, DC Fandome 2021 streamed online, revealing big updates for the DC Cinematic Universe.

With Marvel kicking off Phase 4, DC had a lot of fixing to do. After the Suicide Squad Reboot did much better than it’s original material, they decided to step it up and make the most from what they already had. DC Fandome this year showed that they’re still staying on top of their game, revealing exciting trailers and behind the scenes that would get any superhero fan excited for the DC rollout over the next few years.

5. The Flash –

Release Date: November 4, 2022

The twelfth film in the DCEU, Starring Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ben Affleck co-starring as Batman.  In this film, The Flash will be traveling back in time to save his own mother from being murdered. It’s about time The Flash gets his own film, especially since he’s the comic relief in the Justice League group as well as undervalued (at least in my opinion). There will also be a surprise Batman set to reprise his role as well but since I’m omitting spoiler you’ll have to watch the trailer below if you want to find out more.

4. Shazam! Fury of the Gods –

Release Date: June 2, 2023

Shazam 2 is gonna be a good time if you liked the first one. Zachary Levi is back as the adult/kid superhero with a much bigger budget and much bigger problems to deal with. Hellen Mirren will be co-starring as well, adding a veteran actress to the already talented cast, and playing the main villain. If the comedy and action combination in the first one was something you enjoyed, then the second film will definitely be something you should keep an eye out for.

3. Peacemaker –

Release Date: January 2022

Peacemaker is the upcoming prequel to the action-packed Suicide Squad (2021). Creator James Gunn brings an HBO Max original mini-series starring John Cena as the titular character, Peacemaker. Peacemaker is an anti-hero killer who believes in achieving peace, no matter the cost. Showrunner James Gunn described the character as a “superhero/supervillain/[the] world’s biggest douchebag.” If you were a fan of the Suicide Squad reboot and was still a fan of Peacemaker after the climax, then this show is gonna be worth watching.

2. Black Adam

Release Date: July 29, 2022

This is Dwayne Johnson’s Marvel Moment. You can tell The Rock is very excited he’s finally get his own Marvel movie, not only from the fact he was the one announcing his upcoming film, he’s Even credited as a co-producer. Hopefully the passion he has fo the character is a sign that the film will be a lot more polished and cared for as opposed to some of the other DC movies that have been released in the past (obviously a reference to Green Lantern 2021). Definitely one of the better drops this year, and definitely set to make a lot of money.

1. The Batman

Release Date: March 4, 2022

The Highly Anticipated Caped Crusader Trailer has finally dropped. Honestly one of the most impressive releases of the year, a very close second just behind the Spiderman: No Way Home trailer (not in terms of streams, more in terms of content). I don’t really want to say much more about it because I really did enjoy the trailer a lot and wasn’t even expecting much. A lot of posts from people who’ve seen the film at early screenings are saying it’s basically a horror movie, so hopefully we get a lot of action out of Robert Pattinson’s take on The Batman, even if it is a PG-13 adaptation.
