Dawn Hosts a Family Dinner with Locals in Lambertville, New Jersey

This weekend, Dawn invited families and friends from all over to rediscover the meaning of family dinner in Lambertville, New Jersey, while they washed over 6,000 dishes using their dish soap.

Nestled at the southern tip of New Jersey sits the quaint city of Lambertville. Voted one of the 15 most gorgeous places to live in the United States, Lambertville is something adjacent to the cover of a “Better Homes and Gardens” catalogue.

With a bridge connecting New Jersey to Pennsylvania, the town is reminiscent of traditional colonial style architecture set in the background of modern day. Yet the one thing in constant surplus were the number of families shuffling through the streets of this small, charming town.

For the last few weeks, Dawn has been walking the streets of Lambertville to tell residents about their first ever “Family Dinner with Dawn”. Locals were invited to sit and enjoy the celebration to bring awareness to the cleaning power of Dawn’s new 21.6oz bottle, perfect for washing the dishes for every family dinner. While they communed and conversed with both residents and tourists galore, Dawn had a little surprise in store.

At the “Family Dinner with Dawn”, families and friends were treated to free caricatures, face painting, and professionally taken photos of them and their loved ones.

Childhood star, author of her own cookbook Whole New You: How Real Food Transforms Your Life, and mother of a beautiful baby boy, Tia Mowry hosted Sunday’s festivities for the evening, which included a three course dinner. Dressed in a summery white sundress, Mowry donned a warm smile as she walked and interacted with local residents and tourists alike.

As guests convened together over a warm meal, staff members from Dawn were geared with over 15 sinks prepared to clean over 6,000 plates collected during the dinner, using only Dawn’s new 21.6oz bottle of dish soap.

As you walk the expanse of tables stretching over 2,000 ft., families and friends were engulfed in laughter and love as Dawn collected and washed the dishes and plates used in celebration.

Dawn successfully integrated the same family-friendly quality that has been synonymous with the brand for decades. As the slogan goes, “even one drop goes a long way”.

We sat down and spoke with Tia Mowry about her partnership with Dawn:

What got you affiliated with Dawn?

Well I am a huge fan of dawn. I am a chef/mom. I am all about cooking for my family and throwing big family dinners. Dawn is my go-to. I call Dawn my best friend. Without Dawn how can you do anything and wash dishes. What’s so awesome about today’s event is that we are talking about how Dawn has 21.6oz bottle. And they are known to fight grease very well. But what is really cool is that this one bottle can wash the dishes for an entire town. So that’s why we are here today. So what’s really cool about Dawn is that they are throwing on this “Family Dinner with Dawn”. We are serving them dinner. And then they don’t have to wash their dishes. We are actually washing their dishes for them so they don’t have to worry about that. Also why I am just happy to be here is because I am chef/mom and I am all about throwing parties. And I know that awesome memories and great things happen at the dinner table. And what we want to get across is for the community to come together, to unwind and unplug. Things are pretty stressful in our world right now. Especially with everything that happened in Charlottesville. When you are just able to come her and be with people who are kind and a community where everyone is getting along, that’s what it’s all about.

Did you have a hand in picking out any of the food for the night’s festivities?

I definitely gave my opinion. I approved of everything, because when I think of family dinner I think of pasta with marinara sauce. it is one of my family’s go-to’s. We make this amazing turkey meatball and spaghetti. It’s my father-in-laws favorite meal for me to make. And who doesn’t like a berry cobbler?

Now we know that you have a very large family. Whose job was it to clean the dishes after dinner?

I did! My sister and I used to be like, “It is so not fair that my brothers never really did the dishes”. They never did the dishes. That was like our job. I should send them some Dawn.
