On Wednesday, October 9th, Dave East celebrated the upcoming release of his studio project ‘Karma 4’ at WonderLoft Studio in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
In celebration of ‘Karma 4,’ which is his 7th studio mixtape, the low-fi, elegant room was an intimate evening of music, conversation and fine dining.
Some of his hip-hop counterparts in attendance include Maino, Fabolous, Millyz and Neek Bucks. Additionally, there were a litany of tastemakers, collaborators, friends and more.
The project consists of 26 tracks, encapsulating what feels like his most eclectic soundscape yet. Staying true to his roots, East has always made it a point to push the needle on his sonics and experimentation. There’s even a surprise verse from West Coast legend Nipsey Hussle.
In true artist fashion, the evening reflected East evolution as both an artist and storyteller – balancing street authenticity with refined artistry.
Some of the standout tracks include “Desperation”, “Stand On That”, and “What We Talkin.”
On this record, there are no shortage of features as well. Some of his collaborations include Stove God Cooks, Jeremih, Wiz Khalifa, Mozzy, Larry June, Key Glock and more.
All things considered, East has reestablished himself as an elder statesman in the NYC hip-hop landscape with the emergence of ‘Karma 4’ and takes pride in holding the torch for true authenticity in contemporary rap.
