The Knockturnal was invited to a holiday celebration centered on compassion, culture, and community, as hip-hop artists Cash Cobain and Bay Swag partnered with New York City dining destination Sei Less to host an intimate gathering for 45–50 teenagers from Children of Promise NYC—a nonprofit organization supporting young people whose families have been impacted by the criminal justice system.

Held at Sei Less in Manhattan, the private event transformed the restaurant into a space of celebration and connection. The teens, ages 14 to 19, were treated to a festive dining experience featuring some of the restaurant’s most popular Asian Fusion dishes, while the room filled with energy, laughter, and the warmth of the holiday season.

In a moment that spoke volumes about intention and presence, Cash Cobain and Bay Swag joined Sei Less co-founder Dara Mirjahangiry in personally serving food, sitting down to dine with the teens, and spending time connecting with each guest. Photos were taken, conversations flowed naturally, and the artists remained fully engaged throughout the afternoon, creating a genuine and memorable experience for everyone in attendance.

Rather than a standard celebrity appearance, the afternoon unfolded as an interactive exchange. Cash Cobain and Bay Swag signed phones and sneakers, posed for photos, and fielded thoughtful questions about music, life, and navigating adversity. Their candid responses and words of encouragement helped create an uplifting end-of-year moment—one rooted in authenticity and mutual respect.

In recognition of their continued commitment to youth impacted by the justice system, Children of Promise NYC presented Cash Cobain, Bay Swag, and Sei Less with appreciation awards honoring their ongoing support of the organization and the young people it serves.

The event also reflects Sei Less’ growing legacy of community-driven outreach that bridges culture, cuisine, and social impact. Most recently, the restaurant partnered with Fat Joe and Jadakiss to host a Father’s Day luncheon uplifting families impacted by the criminal justice system, further establishing Sei Less as a hub for meaningful engagement beyond nightlife and dining.

For context, Sei Less has become one of New York City’s premier Asian Fusion restaurants and a frequent destination for music, sports, and entertainment icons including Cardi B, Kevin Hart, Mark Wahlberg, Shaquille O’Neal, Ciara, 50 Cent, Ice Spice, Rauw Alejandro, and more.

Children of Promise NYC remains a vital community-centered organization, partnering with children and families impacted by mass incarceration to dismantle stigma and address trauma affecting Black and Brown communities. They are the only agency in New York City to provide therapeutic empowerment services and youth development seamlessly under one roof.

“Creating moments like this with Cash Cobain, Bay Swag, and Children of Promise is what Sei Less is all about,” said Dara Mirjahangiry, co-founder of Sei Less. “The holidays can be especially difficult for families impacted by the justice system, so being able to provide these teens with joy, connection, and a memorable experience to close out the year was incredibly meaningful.”

After spending time with Cash Cobain and Bay Swag, it’s clear that their impact reaches far beyond music. Both artists are grounded, approachable, and deeply invested in the youth they serve. Watching them sit, eat, and answer questions with intention made it evident why they are both successful and necessary voices in today’s culture. Their faith, humility, and commitment to what truly matters—uplifting the next generation were present in every interaction.

It is always powerful to witness the progress and positive change that intentional giving back can create. We are grateful to have been invited, thank Vital Versatility once again, and from all of us here at The Knockturnal, we wish everyone a joyful and meaningful holiday season.
