CIX Get Real About “GO Chapter 1: GO Together” | [EXCLUSIVE VIDEO]

As their new chapter begins, Korean boy group CIX, their second comeback as a quartet,  has released their dreamlike new album, GO Chapter 1 : GO Together.

Marking the start of a fresh era, GO Chapter 1 symbolizes “going together.” Though it’s their first chapter in this new phase, the members of CIX have been together for around six years.

This release is also their second comeback of 2025, following THUNDER, which showcased a darker and more intense concept.

This time, their title track “WONDER YOU (니가 궁금해)” takes on a brighter tone, an upbeat song about the deep curiosity and excitement of getting to know someone new, affectionately referred to as a Seraphim

Reflecting the heavenly theme, the music video features the four members dressed in white, surrounded by soft clouds and bright colors that perfectly complement the song’s airy, uplifting sound. (And yes, it includes an insane high note in the final chorus, courtesy of main vocalist SEUNGHUN!)

You can check out the “WONDER YOU” music video below.

The release has already received immense love, with the video having surpassed 8 million views in under a week. The rest of the EP continues the vibrant, colorful energy: opening with “S.O.S”, a fast-tempo track with alert, urgent lyrics; followed by “UPSTANDER,” a sultry song perfect for more relaxed moments; and closing with “IN MY DREAMS,” a euphoric three-minute finale that encapsulates the album’s dreamy concept.

Speaking about this new chapter, YONGHEE shared,

“We wanted to give fans even more certainty and confidence in us. For us, GO Together was really meaningful because we had many conversations about moving forward as four. In the end, we all agreed to give our very best side by side, and we will ‘go together’ against any challenges.”

The Knockturnal sat down with members BX, SEUNGHUN, YONGHEE, and HYUNSUK to talk about the release, from its lighter vibes and the group’s second comeback as a quartet, to BX’s co-writing and producing work, and even some personal behind-the-scenes stories (including a few unexpectedly vulnerable, shirtless moments in the music video).

The conversation has been edited for clarity.

The Knockturnal: First of all, congratulations on your comeback! This is your eighth EP overall and your second as a quartet following your last release. With GO Chapter 1 : GO Together kicking off a brand-new chapter, what does this album represent for CIX? And specifically, what meaning does the phrase “GO Together” carry for you this time around?

YONGHEE: With this album, we wanted to give them even more certainty and confidence in us. For us, GO Together was really meaningful because we had many conversations about moving forward as four. In the end, we all agreed to give our very best side by side, and we will ‘go together’ against any challenges.

The Knockturnal: Also, a huge congratulations on the title track “니가 궁금해 (WONDER YOU),” the music video hit 8 million views in under a week! And following the success of “THUNDER,” which surpassed 20 million views, that’s incredible momentum. Was this kind of response something you expected, or did it take you by surprise?

HYUNSUK: It was truly unexpected. We just focused on preparing our best, but seeing so many fans love the songs made us feel so grateful. I think our fans had been waiting for us for a long time, so their reactions made me feel really proud.

The Knockturnal: The song itself, “WONDER YOU,” feels very poetic; the lyrics express a deep curiosity and longing to discover every detail about someone you love. And the music video creates a beautiful world around that. Could you share some of your favorite on-set memories from filming?

SEUNGHUN: We worked out a lot, so even though it was a little embarrassing and I felt shy, the scene where I took off my shirt and threw it was really memorable. I don’t think I’ll ever do that again, but trying it as a once-in-a-lifetime experience makes me proud and it really stands out for me.

The Knockturnal: Speaking of the newer concept, compared to “THUNDER’s” concept, this time around the visuals are much brighter! As a group, do you think GO Together’s dreamlike visuals are meant to contrast or continue the darker tones of the OK series?

BX: I think the GO series shows us going toward heaven and staying peaceful and stable. We’ve told many different stories up until now, and rather than focusing on darker themes, this series feels like the beginning of a new and different kind of story.

The Knockturnal: This EP has four tracks, each with its own flavor, from the R&B harmonies of “WONDER YOU” to the sultrier vibe of “UPSTANDER.” Could you tell us what these songs mean to you personally?

YONGHEE: When we first heard the demos, I was really pleased with them and loved how they sounded, which motivated me to work even harder. My personal favorites are “S.O.S” and “WONDER YOU,” but since we’ve been listening to those so often during preparations, lately I’ve found myself drawn more to “IN MY DREAMS.”

The Knockturnal: And BX, a question for you: you’ve been involved in songwriting before, but with this album you took on even more responsibility. How was the process of co-writing and co-composing for GO Chapter 1 : GO Together? Can you walk us through how those songs came to life from your perspective?

BX: Working on this album was definitely challenging. I’ve worked on many songs for individual performances at concerts before, but writing lyrics that matched the group’s lore was my first time, and it wasn’t easy. I had to discuss a lot with the company and go through many edits, but we were eventually able to create lyrics I’m really happy with. I’m very content with how it all turned out. I had so much fun writing the lyrics for the amazing songs on this album. I was especially proud and happy while working on “S.O.S,” my personal favorite from the album. I would write the lyrics, try singing them, and really enjoy the process.

The Knockturnal: Speaking of lyrics, in “WONDER YOU,” the word “Seraphim” appears, an angelic being with six wings, which feels symbolic given CIX’s lore. Are there any other easter eggs or hidden meanings in these songs that fans might not have noticed yet?

YONGHEE: We actually all tried writing the lyrics together for “WONDER YOU,” and one thing that our company asked us to do was to include the word “Seraphim.” After searching it up, I learned it was an angelic being with six wings, which inspired us to tell our story about heaven, a very symbolic theme. I sometimes see fans who like to find these hidden meanings and interpretations. Some interpretations are spot on, but I’m often surprised by the different ways they translate and understand it. Seeing all those small details shows how creative they are, and it makes me feel touched every time.

The Knockturnal: Now, since the title track is all about curiosity, I’d like to flip it back on you! Could each of you share one fun fact about yourselves that fans might not know? It could be your favorite food right now, a song you’re listening to on repeat, or even something silly.

YONGHEE: I’ve been eating sashimi at night recently.

HYUNSUK: I’ve been listening to “What You Want” by CORTIS. We’re promoting at the same time, actually, and I love their song.

SEUNGHUN: Among all the movies I’ve watched over the past few years, I really enjoyed F1. As the “best driver” myself, I dreamed about becoming an F1 driver. But since I have to continue my path with CIX, I gave up on that dream. Instead, I enjoy listening to the OST track while I drive.

BX: I recently lost my AirPods, but SEUNGHUN had been hiding them from me for the past four days. He only told me about it 30 minutes ago, so I finally found them.

SEUNGHUN: I hid them because he turned off my phone.

The Knockturnal: And finally, drawing from the last track “IN MY DREAMS,” what are CIX’s hopes and goals for this comeback and for the rest of 2025? Where do you dream of heading next as a group?

SEUNGHUN: Preparing as a group of four, my goal was to make CIX more well-known so the public can get to know us better. We’re working hard in many ways to showcase the group, not just in Korea but globally. We’ve already traveled to perform in various countries, and we’re planning to expand to other countries in Asia and more places in Korea. We want to create as many opportunities as possible to perform for our fans and show our new charming sides.

The Knockturnal: Before we wrap up, is there anything you’d like to say directly to FIX or to fans who are listening and reading?

BX: We promise to show you amazing performances, so please continue supporting us, right next to us. We love you so much!

With GO Chapter 1 : GO Together, CIX proves that even through change, their artistry and passion remain unwavering. As they continue to create and evolve, fans can look forward to even more from these four shining artists.
