Check Out The Lineup For 2016 Brooklyn Book Festival

New York’s largest literary festival will be taking place Sunday, September 18.

The Brooklyn Book Festival (BKBF) is the biggest free literary event in New York City. This year the event will feature over 200 writers, including Margaret Atwood, Margo Jefferson, Faith Erin Hicks, Russell Banks, Phoebe Gloeckner, Chester Brown, Salman Rushdie, Libba Bray, Stephanie Danler, Gayle Forman, Pete Hamill, Jacqueline Woodson, Angela Flournoy, Helen Garner, Karin Slaughter, Bruce Schneier, Rebecca Traister, Marjorie Liu, Sayed Kashua, Esmeralda Santiago, Thomas Frank, Ralph Nader, Nicole Dennis-Benn, Yusef Komunyakaa, Joyce Carol Oates, A.O. Scott, Hua Hsu, Rob Sheffield, Yoss, Jessica Valenti, Cecily von Ziegesar, Ocean Vuong and Ed Yong.

The festivities include conversation with Margaret Atwood about her books and graphic novels, a discussion about Islamophobia and terrorism led by Masha Gessen (The Brothers), Moustafa Bayoumi (This Muslim American Life) and Amitava Kumar (A Foreigner Carrying in the Crook of His Arm a Tiny Bomb), conversation with 2015 National Book Award winner Jacqueline Woodson about her writing life and being part of, and influenced by, Brooklyn’s literary lineage, and more.
