Charles Woodson’s Intercept Wines Big Game Media Dinner For Super Bowl Week in LA

In celebration of Super Bowl Week in LA, one of the NFL’s most decorated players, Charles Woodson, hosted an intimate dinner on Wednesday February 9th at Eveleigh in West Hollywood to highlight Intercept Wines — an affordable yet high quality wine brand he launched in 2019.

The night started off with a few glasses of the 2020 Intercept Chardonnay (from Monterey, California) that has notes of ripe peaches, shortbread, and creamy lemon curd — aged in French and Eastern European oak for 6 months. It was a great way to kick off what would be a great night.

As everyone made their way to the tables and took their seats, the man of the hour, Charles Woodson, set the stage for what to except from the 3 course meal paired with the premium Intercept Wines.

Woodson launched Intercept Wines in September 2019 and achieved full national distribution in September 2020 through his partnership with O’Neill Vintners & Distillers, making him the first Black NFL player and wine brand partner to gain direct-to-retail distribution nationally.

The first course was paired with the 2019 Intercept Pinot Noir (from Monterey, California) that has aromas of ripe cherries, raspberry preserves, and cloves — aged in French and Eastern European oak for 14 months.

The main course was paired with two wines from Paso Robles, California: the 2019 Intercept Cabernet Sauvignon that has aromas of ripe blackberries, red currants, and dried-herbs — aged in French and Eastern European oak for 18 months and the 2019 Intercept Red Blend that has aromas of blackberry preserves, sweet tobacco, and caramelized sugar — aged in French and Eastern European oak for 18 months.

Each of these amazing Intercept Wines are available for only $20, an affordable price point Charles Woodson was adamant about due to the overwhelming demand from his supporters and fans.

Charles Woodson is an 18-year NFL veteran, former NFL Defensive MVP and Heisman Trophy winner. He is a nine-time Pro Bowl defensive back and Super Bowl champion. He is considered by many of his peers to be one of the

greatest defensive players to have ever played. He was a first-ballot enshrinee to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in August 2021. Simply put, Charles Woodson is a Football GOAT.

Before everyone enjoyed the last dessert course of the night, Mr. Woodson introduced a limited edition bottle of wine with a fitting name: Hall of Fame Cabernet Sauvignon. This bottle is a perfect representation of his life and career. He stated, “you don’t just start playing football and all of a sudden now you in the hall of fame — a lot of things go right and a lot of things go wrong but man when it works, everything comes together and then that finished product ends in whether a hall of fame career or a hall of fame bottle of wine, then it was all worth it.”

Intercept Wines are partners with O’Neill Vintners & Distillers, which was founded in 2004 by industry veteran and entrepreneur Jeff O’Neill. The vertically integrated winery is one of the fastest-growing wineries in California with a reputation for producing premium-quality wines from the North Coast, Central Coast, and Central Valley. The company’s national brands portfolio includes Line 39, Robert Hall, Harken, Day Owl Rosé, Game Box, Rabble, and Charles Woodson’s Intercept Wines.

When asked who he thinks will win Super Bowl 56, Mr. Woodson stated “I’m going with the home team”. Time will tell if the Los Angeles Rams will pull off the win but one thing is for sure: Charles Woodson is an NFL legend and is on track to be just as successful with Intercept Wines.
