Cast Attend ‘Narcos: Mexico’ Special Screening

Netflix’s “Narcos: Mexico” is set to premiere its second season on February 16th, 2020.

Originally set to be the fourth season of “Narcos” before breaking off into a companion series, the second season stars Diego Luna known for his role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as Miguel Ángel Fèlix Gallardo the leader of the Guadalajara Cartel, and Scoot McNairy portraying Walt Breslin, a DEA agent who is brought in to investigate the death of Michael Peña’s character, KiKi Camarena the DEA agent who was originally on Gallardo’s case.

The series gives viewers an insight into the growth and expansion of the drug trade in Mexico in the 1980s. Gallardo began his life as a Sinaloan police officer before becoming a drug lord and the leader of the first major Mexican cartel. The first season ends with the death of Camarena and reveals the narrator of the season to McNairy’s character who will be the protagonist of the new season.

The season will follow Luna’s character as he grows into “El Padrino” or the Godfather of the Cartel, as well as taking others under his wing like Alejandro Edda’s character, Joaquin Guzman. Who is known as El Chapo, the future leader on the Sinaloa Cartel.
