Earlier today, Roc Nation Sports announced the signing of 2016 NBA draft prospect Caris LeVert
Roc Nation Sports, Jay Z’s sports management company was established in 2013. Since then, Roc Nation Sports has compiled a roster of stars including Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant and New York Mets slugger Yoenis Cespedes. The Columbus,Ohio native is the seventh basketball player to sign with Jay Z and Roc Nation Sports, as he joins Kevin Durant, Skylar Diggings, Justice Winslow, Willie Cauley-Stein, Wilson Chandler and James Young.
The former University of Michigan guard accumulated over 1,000 points and multiple All-Big Ten preseason selections in his four seasons at the university. LeVert also played a significant role in helping to lead the Michigan Wolverines to consecutive Elite Eights (2013 and 2014), as well as the championship game in 2013, resulting in a loss to the Louisville Cardinals.
Despite his successes, LeVert still has an uncertain NBA future because of foot surgery he underwent on March 22, his third such surgery. His doctor, Dr. Martin O’Malley, said he expects LeVert to have fully recovered in six weeks. But the newest Roc Nation Sports client was rated as a top thirty player in the upcoming NBA draft by CBS Sports’ Sam Vecenie.
Both Roc Nation Sports and Caris LeVert announced the signings on their respective Instagram and Twitter accounts.
