Bombay Sapphire x Eater Brings Sustainability to the Conversation with National Dinner, Cocktails Series

Bombay Sapphire has partnered with Eater to bring the Locally Spirited dinner series around the United States featuring bespoke cocktails and sustainably-sourced menus.

After spending a decade collecting sustainability certifications for all ten of the botanicals in its award-winning gin, Bombay Sapphire is now hitting the road to celebrate and examine what it means to truly be sustainable through a series of dinner and cocktail conversations.

“Sustainable” can no longer simply be a buzzword. Action is required to see change, and Bombay Sapphire has become the final word in sustainable gin production.

For the kick-off event, Bombay Sapphire assembled brand experts, celebrity chefs, enthusiastic patrons, and engaged community members at The Osprey restaurant at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge to explore sustainability over a multi-course dinner with bespoke cocktails featuring Bombay Sapphire gin.

Recognized and treasured for its minimized-waste programs, non-invasive architecture, and unique rooftop garden, the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge set the bar for what a sustainable urban retreat could be. Likewise, Bombay Sapphire has undertaken significant efforts to secure a zero-waste approach at its Laverstoke distillery, recycling used botanicals through anaerobic digestion and using 100% renewable energy. Despite very different industries, 1 Hotels and Bombay Sapphire have both recognized the importance of actionable sustainability, making the partnership a no-brainer.

The culinary offerings were orchestrated by none other than MasterChef Australia contestant and author of the gastronomic opus, Dudefood, Chef Dan Churchill. Presented along with the manager of the hotel and ambassadors from Bombay Sapphire, each course was introduced with a note on their pairing with the drink as well as a thought-provoking quote about sustainability that often accented the urgency and cooperative nature of sustainable practices. These quotes often fueled fervent conversation at the table with a variety of opinions reinforcing the fact that sustainability can be a very personal affair.

The dinner series will continue across the United States, with a stop in Austin, TX on August 22nd, and San Francisco, CA on August 29th. In the event you can’t make it, gin enthusiasts are invited to stop by the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge and other locations around the country in the next three months to sample the variety of custom cocktails from world-famous bars and lounges, all featuring Bombay Sapphire gin.
