The duo have been friends since childhood and are finally living out their dreams of being artists. We caught up with BlueBucksClan to discuss their musical beginnings, latest project, and standout collaborations.

The Knockturnal: Where does the name BlueBucksClan come from?

BlueBucksClan: It symbolizes our group of friends, there’s a lot of us. We all played football together and wanted to come up with a name to describe us. It stands for a group of people who are just tryna get money. Blue Bucks Clan – we just tryna get to them Blue Bucks, all the hundreds.

The Knockturnal: When in your relationship did you go from playing football together to recording music? How quickly did that happen?

BlueBucksClan: It wasn’t that fast because we knew each other as kids and we didn’t start doing music until 2019. We always were fans of music. We just felt like if we put our minds to it, we could do it. We felt like we listened to the best music already so we could make something not too bad.

The Knockturnal: What have been the 3 biggest highlights of your career?

BlueBucksClan: Our partnership with O TV, being able to drop our latest mixtape Clan Virus 2, and working with Hitboy and Quavo.

The Knockturnal: Who’s cosign were you the most excited about?

BlueBucksClan: Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook, that was big to us.

The Knockturnal: Can you talk to us about Clan Virus 2?

BlueBucksClan: We came this time with a lot more songs, we got about 4 features on there, we got Cash Kidd, Bino Rideaux, Lil Yachty, Quavo. To us it’s 4 heavy hitters, 4 good features and it’s just us giving them what they want.

The Knockturnal: Can you tell us how some of the collaborations came about?

BlueBucksClan: Cash Kidd, he actually DM’d us saying we gotta work. We knocked the song out in the next couple of days. Yachty actually reached out to us as well and said he’d tap in with us the next time he’s out here. When he came to L.A. he hit us up and pulled up to the studio.

The Knockturnal: Who’s been your favorite person to collaborate with?

BlueBucksClan: All of them. Everybody who we do music with, we really f*ck with their music.
