Belvedere Vodka and Chef Chloe Coscarelli threw a swank soiree in West Hollywood to celebrate the launch of Peach Nectar vodka, a refreshing new flavor that’s perfect for al fresco Spring and Summer nights.
The event featured delicious bites from Chef Coscarelli, including some divine avocado-peach bruschetta with fresh mint and a balsamic drizzle. Servers brought trays of them around many times, and not once did I decline. There were five cocktails on the menu, ranging from tart and tangy to soulful and sublime. Belvedere Savory Smash hit all the right notes, with a Worcestershire sauce surprise that had me asking for seconds. My favorite concoction was the Belvedere Peach Nectar Spritz. It was the simplest of the night: 1-to-1 vodka and sweet vermouth topped with sparkling water. The peach shone through, and the combo felt mature on the whole; confident and elegant.
The other two cocktails were fruity and fun: Belvedere Ripened Rush, a sugary blitz of lemon juice and simple syrup, and Belvedere Jamboree, which packed in grapefruit juice, lemon juice and apricot preserves. I leaned toward these two as the night waned. Huge kudos to the owners of restaurant E.P. & L.P., who hosted the event on their rooftop. The Hollywood hills provided a breathtaking backdrop to a night aimed at both the fun-loving and the well-heeled.
The roof space was gorgeous, with stunning lights peaking from behind colorful plants. There was also a back area where partiers played corn hole, a lighthearted touch at a glitzy gathering. Last but not least, hat tip to DJ Rye Toast, who played chilled out and danceable remixes of classic tunes, while throwing in acerbic surprises like Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright”, a song whose populist overtones contrast harshly with the event’s posh West Hollywood surroundings.
