Backstage Beauty: Roksanda Fall/Winter 2018 At London Fashion Week

Before the show models took the stage at London Fashion Week to present the styles of Roksanda, M·A·C Cosmetics artist Miranda Joyce designed the look of the makeup.

As the models were getting ready to walk the runway, Miranda Joyce and the other M·A·C Cosmetics designers of the makeup for the Roksanda show talked with us about how beauty look was achieved.

As the models prepared for the runway, we learned that Joyce designed the makeup to make it look lived in and worn, natural in many ways. The desire was to look “naturally polished” and as realistic as possible. This was done by applying light amounts of concealer as needed and adding blush and lipstick to the cheeks in order to give them a “recently pinched” look.

Using M·A·C Cosmetics, the eyelashes were extended in order to extend them. Otherwise the eye makeup was designed to be as sparse and plain as the rest of the face, as if someone would wear it every day. The goal with both the eye makeup and the face was to make them look “naturalistic and nice,” not forced or fake in anyway.
