Backstage Beauty Report: Vivienne Tam Fall 2016

We had a chance to go backstage at Vivienne Tam to see the beauty teams in action!

The collection is inspired by a timeless cultural dreamland that is a mélange of influences from different cultures spanning the Chinese Western frontier to Central Asia and the Caucuses, along the new economic and cultural trade route comprising the modern day ‘Silk Road’.

The Glam Squad was on make up with lead artist Kelli J. Bartlett. When we asked her how she came up with the makeup look, she replied “We got a chance to preview the  collection and came up with the rustic girl with a wandering soul who graduates to the international traveling girl.” This girl has wind burned skin and is the anti-bohemian. For her more is more! She has wide open eyes with a spray of freckles and winter skin.

Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa With Olivia Garden created magic with the hair and nail teams. Lead hair stylist Wade Lee created an effortless, lived in hair do that hung down showcasing its body and texture. “This hair is raw and lived in.”

On the nail tip, lead nail artist Iwona Opiola created a a dark nail to compliment the rich texture of Vivienne Tam’s collection. She used Essie’s Spun in Luxe polish to create the perfect manicure for the Nomadic girl of Vivienne Tam’s FW 16 collection to hit the runway.
