Read our exclusive interviews below:

Hair: James Pecis

Who are your biggest inspirations that lead you into the hairstyling field?

Macgyver, he was an agent for the Phoenix Foundation on television who was always solving crimes, but let’s say he got trapped in a room, he was really good at using what ever was in the room to get himself out. For example he would touch a gun or anything and be able to get himself out. He was also really good at catching bad guys, so yes he was my inspiration.

What is the overall concept for the hair in today’s show?

90s, minimalism, Ballerina Between Rehearsals

Can you give me an overview of todays hair process?

Prepping hair with Phytovolume Actif Volumizing Spray, curing irons to bump hair, PHYTO Professional Matte Texturizing Spray, a low ponytail twist to make the hair look as natural as possible.

What products are you using?

PHYTO

Makeup: Romy Soleimani

Which products are you using today to create the makeup looks?

bareMinerals

Any details on today’s look?

We are going with a subtle “rubbed and raw” effect on the eyes and glowing skin using products by Jurlique.

Nails: Nonie Creme

What are some common misconception about being a nail technician?

I’ll tell you what, nails have come such a long way and I have been a nail tech for almost 25 years. When I first decided to become a manicurist everyone was mortified/horrified, at the time this career was looked down upon. It was the career you took when you had no other options. Over the years the perception has changed thanks to the advent of social media which caused nails to become the darling of beauty products. Instagram and look up hashtag nails, and millions of posts will pop up, so now it is an elevated looked up to position.

What was the inspiration behind today’s nail look?

Minimalism, using products by Colour Prevails.

You are now into product creation and owning a company, was this originally sought after or planned?

I started out as a nail tech but who doesn’t dream of owning their own company. I have worked diligently and very very hard, completely self taught. Work hard, be smart, anyone can do this.

What are your favorite gadgets?

A patent pending nail polish gripper, it allows for an easier more controlled application

What is your favorite nail color?

Jet black and a color named after me “Trouble Maker-a bright lady like red” those two are definitely my favorite
