Sometimes all we need is an anthem that reminds us to stay steady, laugh it off, and keep believing in ourselves. Baby DONT Cry’s I DONT CARE is exactly that, a burst of confidence and fun with a sound that’ll have you on your feet shouting, “I don’t care!”
K-pop group Baby DONT Cry (BDC), under P Nation, debuted in April 2025 with members Yihyun, Kumi, Mia, and Beni. Now, they’re back with their second single, I DONT CARE, a fierce and uplifting track about determination and chasing your dreams, a message many of us need more often than we admit.
And clearly, others agree: the music video has already surpassed 8 million views on YouTube in under a week. With its striking visuals, shifting from dark concepts to cozy, casual scenes to fairytale fantasy, and choreography that makes you want to jump up and dance (or even fly, just like in the video), the track radiates joy and energy from start to finish.
Their previous release, “F Girl,” carried a more intense tone, but as leader Yihyun explains, I DONT CARE taps into a different kind of spirit: “We wanted to capture the kind of freedom you can only feel at our age, just enjoying the moment without worrying too much about others. The message is simple: don’t focus on what others say; just do what feels right for you.”
In our conversation with Baby DONT Cry, we dive deeper into the concept behind their comeback, what they do care about these days, and their dreams and goals for the coming year, all from a rookie girl group already standing out with their fresh sound, unique concept, and lovable charm. We truly had the best time speaking with them.

The Knockturnal: Compared to your previous track, ‘F Girl’, this song feels more refreshing, youthful, and carefree. Could you tell us a bit about the creative process behind this song… how it came together, what kind of message you wanted to express?
Yihyun: We wanted to capture the kind of freedom you can only feel at our age, just enjoying the moment without worrying too much about others. The message we wanted to express is simple: don’t focus on what others say, and just do what feels right for you.
The Knockturnal: The visuals feel brighter and playful, with a hint of Y2K style. What part of this concept did you enjoy the most, from the music video to the outfits, choreography, or photoshoots?
Mia: I would have to say it was when we were practicing the performance with all the dancers, especially during the last chorus. The energy was amazing, and it was so much fun. Even when we went to shoot that scene, you could see on our faces how much we were enjoying it. Please look forward to that final chorus.
The Knockturnal: ‘I DONT CARE’ really highlights your passion and determination to keep running toward your dreams. As a group that’s still new to the scene, how has debuting and seeing all the love from CHERRIES motivated you? Are there any special moments or experiences recently that reminded you why you wanted to pursue this career and keep going?
Kumi: Honestly, I used to feel really nervous at times. But whenever I heard our fans, Cherries, cheering for us, it made me stronger. Every moment on stage reminds me how much I want to keep pursuing this dream.
The Knockturnal: The phrase ‘I DONT CARE’ can sound bold and carefree, but in your song, it feels empowering, like it’s about chasing your dreams and not letting others’ opinions hold you back. In your own words, what does ‘I DONT CARE’ mean to each of you? What message do you hope listeners take away from it?
Beni: I hope fans can feel the importance of being true to themselves through this song. The world is full of comparisons and judgments, but in the end, our lives are ours to create. To me, ‘I DONT CARE’ isn’t about being careless, it’s about believing in yourself. I hope fans can trust their choices and keep moving toward their dreams!
The Knockturnal: Since the song is called ‘I DONT CARE,’ let’s flip it: what do you actually care about these days? It could be a favorite song, food, hobby, or anything else that makes you happy.
Kumi: One thing I really care about… is not missing out on good desserts! Whenever I find one I like, I immediately share it with my members!
The Knockturnal: I’m really looking forward to seeing the ‘I DONT CARE’ music video and choreography, but even just from listening to the track, it already feels so vocally empowering. There’s a lot of brightness and power in the sound, especially with the higher notes and lighter tone. Was this song challenging in any way for you vocally or performance-wise? Or was it more of a fun opportunity to experiment with a brighter sound and showcase new sides of your voices?
Yihyun: Rather than having faced any particular challenges with this song, I think we were able to enjoy the process together, just like we were all having fun. It feels a little different from our debut track, so I was even more excited to show a new side of Baby DONT Cry.
The Knockturnal: I actually had the chance to see you both at KCON LA and Hello82 this summer, and it’s a memory I still think about a lot. You could really feel how happy you were to see and meet your fans in person.
Have there been any special fan meeting moments or experiences that have really stayed with you or motivated you as artists? Maybe something a fan said or did that encouraged you to keep going?
Beni: The KCON LA stage was truly unforgettable! Since we debuted not long ago, we were worried the audience wouldn’t react much, but they welcomed us so warmly and screamed our names so loudly that we were really moved. I still can’t forget that moment, and it became another reason to keep working even harder.
The Knockturnal: Now that ‘I DONT CARE’ has been released, do you have any plans or hopes to visit fans in other countries? And if you could perform or hold a fan meeting anywhere in the world, where would each of you most like to go? I am sure fans would love to see BDC live with what is to come!
Mia: We’re always ready to meet our international fans! We practice every day so we can show our performance to fans around the world. Although we want to visit every country, since my family currently lives in Japan, I would be especially happy if we could perform in Japan one day and show them our stage in person.
The Knockturnal: Now that 2025 is coming to a close, BDC has debuted with two singles this year. Looking back, what has this year been like for you as a group? And with the release of ‘I DONT CARE’, are there any goals or milestones you hope to reach before the year ends?
Kumi: This year passed by so quickly. I was lucky to experience so many new things and gain more confidence. By the end of the year, I hope even more people can hear our music.
The Knockturnal: Looking into 2026, what can fans look forward to from Baby DONT Cry? Are there plans for an album or new releases on the horizon? If so, are there any concepts or ideas that you’re especially excited to explore in those projects?
Yihyun: In 2026, I hope we can show a more relaxed version of ourselves. Instead of being tied to one concept or genre, we want to present many different sides of Baby DONT Cry.
The Knockturnal: To wrap up the interview, as Baby DONT Cry enters this new era and continues showing different sides of the group, is there a message you’d like to share with CHERRIES and new listeners who are just discovering your music?
Yihyun: Cherries! No matter what anyone says, I hope you follow what your heart tells you. That’s the message we wanted to share in this song :>
Kumi: Cherries’ smiles give us so much strength. Let’s keep making lots of happy memories together!
Mia: We still have a lot to learn, but I hope you enjoy this improved version of us. Please show lots of love to I DONT CARE and continue supporting Baby DONT Cry!
Beni: We’re truly happy to take our first steps in this new chapter with all of you. If our music can bring you even a moment of comfort or happiness, that would mean everything to us!
