B5 Brings An Intimate Performance to Times Square

B5 held a live performance and meet & greet for their fans on Friday evening, November 8, at the Planet Hollywood in Times Square.

The five Breeding brothers, Patrick, Carnell, Bryan, Dustin, and Kelly, are back in action after a rather long hiatus from 2013 – 2018. Perhaps most well known for their hit single in 2005, “All I Do,” the group has been busy putting out new material, like the single “Wave” that was released this summer. Last week, the brothers came together for an intimate show followed by an opportunity for attendees to mingle with the band. Prior to going on stage, we were able to catch up with B5 and ask them a few questions about their music and what they’re looking forward the most over the next few months.

The Knockturnal: By this point, your music is going to be reaching multiple generations. How do you feel about that? Has that impacted you at all, and how you approach things?

B5: I wouldn’t say that we’ve thought about it. It’s just sort of a natural thing that’s happened. When we get older, we kind of stay with the times as well. We like to re-invent ourselves and always try new things as far as the group is concerned.

It’s moreso music that we like ourselves. We are part of that era, so it’s kind of like we just gracefully transitioned into the era of music now because we’re constantly listening. As artists, we all have to listen to what’s currently going on.

We love putting out new music as well. We’ve always got our ear to what’s current, what’s new, what’s the wave.

The Knockturnal: What would you say is the biggest change in the industry from when you guys first came out?

B5: Social media. Genre blending. Hip hop has really taken off crazy. R&B is starting to change. R&B is definitely back and becoming mainstream again. People really found that sound. Everybody collectively that does R&B found that sound that works for the times.

The Knockturnal: What would you say you’re most excited about for 2020?

B5: The new projects. The new videos, and things we’re about to release for our fans. All the fans need to get ready.

The business side of me gets really excited about the first and second quarter of the year. This quarter, the fourth quarter, everything is shutting down. The music industry is shutting down a little bit. And everyone re-vamps up in January, but we have a lot of things we’re prepping for for that time. So, we’re just excited to release it and show what we got.
