Congratulations to Wally’s Wine & Spirits (aka Wally’s) for celebrating the 10th anniversary of their flagship location in Beverly Hills.

“I opened Wally’s Beverly Hills back in 2014 and I’m incredibly happy to be back home” explains Chef Féau, He continues “I’m excited about our brand’s future, including an exciting expansion. We’re working on opening our first-ever retail store in Malibu where our guests can purchase a new line of Wally’s sauces, pates, and jams. We’ll go into more details during our May party!”

Wally’s continues to redefine the LA foodie scene and regularly draws in the celebrity crowd with a world-class concept that includes a cheese shop, wine and spirits retail store, and an elegant yet casual restaurant setting. With locations in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Las Vegas, and expanding into Malibu.

The Wine

For many, particularly those outside of LA, Wally’s online website may be go-to destination for wine shopping. Looking for a hard-to-get selection? Wally’s probably carries it.

But of course, many Angelenos first got to know the brand through their wines as well. First opening in 1968, Wally’s has long been the city’s go-to for their massive selection. Evolving from a cherished neighborhood liquor store, Wally’s offers wine aficionados an impressive selection from the world’s finest vineyards.

Wally’s has won the Wine Spectator Grand Award in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 and serves over 100 wines by the glass (along with a full cocktail bar).

 The Food

As part of their 10 year anniversary celebration, Chef Féau will be introducing new menu items and hosting monthly unique wine and food pairings. Of course, you can also enjoy some of the staples as well.

The Wood Oven Baked Brie has been a standout since it was first introduced to the menu ten years ago… and it was hard to find a table where you didn’t see it being ordered.

Brie is always good in practically any possible form but what makes this dish stand apart is just how unique it is… which I guess is why if you search the internet and social media, you’ll find plenty of people trying to make this exact dish at home. Order it where it started: melted with truffle honey, truffle butter, and shaved burgundy truffle wedged into a French baguette (perfectly crispy on the outside yet still somehow soft inside), the dish looks as gorgeous (and Insta ready) as it tastes.

Wally’s Lobster Salad, chocked with half Maine lobster, baby gem lettuce, heirloom cherry tomatoes, crispy quinoa, and tomato vinaigrette, makes either a delicious shared appetizer for the table or a light, healthy meal.

For main courses, order the Maine Diver Scallops with seared U-10 scallops, potato leek velouté, pomme tulle, and chef’s selected caviar. Or NY Steak Frites with a 9 oz American wagyu NY strip, glazed cipollini onion, bearnaise sauce, and pomme fries that you can opt to add extra truffles (why not, as it pairs perfectly with the Wood Oven Baked Brie).

The Dessert

Dessert might not be the first thing you think of when picturing the food scene steps from Rodeo Drive and size 0 everything… but we love a taste of the sweet life here in LA.

Wally’s offers a variety of options for those with a sweet tooth, including the Apple Tarte Tatin, served warm with caramelized cinnamon honeycrisp apples, puff pastry, served warm — and a dollop of vanilla gelato thoughtfully placed in its own little bowl so as not to get the tarte soggy.

The Chocolate Hazelnut Fondant with chocolate fondant, hazelnut creameux, candied hazelnuts, hazelnut tuile and a side dollop of hazelnut gelato is a yummy, nutty twist on a classic.

And for those that like cappuccino, which is nearly everyone, I hear that the Wally’s Cappuccino is another standout on the sweet menu.

The Atmosphere

Wally’s has that unique Beverly Hills vibe where the restaurant’’s both a scene and can somehow be casual-cool too. During the day, you can hang out at one of the communal tables, chat with other diners — which, yes, when I dined there, included a top TV and film star.

At night, it’s another cool scene altogether.

The staff was also super chill and friendly — from questions about the wine list, the menu, and checking out throughout the meal.
