The annual Night of Covenant House Stars Gala occurred at The Rooftop Pavilion and Terrace at the Javits Center in New York City on May 22.
The Covenant House accomplishes many noble tasks: it is the largest charity in the Americas that helps survivors of trafficking, and also assists young people facing homelessness. It’s annual Night of Covenant House Stars Gala retook the stage live and in-person at a dazzling and star-studded event in New York City.
Funds raised from the Night of Covenant House Stars Gala went right to providing food, clothing, healthcare, education, job training, and short and long-term housing for youth overcoming homelessness at Covenant House across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.
The inspiring and beautiful evening included appearances by Audra McDonald, Jalen Brunson, Ariana DeBose, and many others. Also in attendance was Eric Hutcherson, Executive VP and Chief People and Inclusion Officer of Universal Music Group, who received the prestigious Covenant House Board Service Award. The event also featured a fantastic performance by the Grammy nominated group Tank and the Bangas.
“I’ve been on the board of Covenant House for almost 10 years now,” Audra McDonald explained. “So any opportunity that I have to support them in any way possible, I’m going to do it. Whenever they need me, I’m there.”
