Summer is the perfect time to embark on a quick weekend getaway or the ultimate road trip. Wherever your ideal destination may be, Audi has the perfect set of wheels for it. The German auto company introduced their new 2019 Audi Q3 in Nashville last week where dozens of car enthusiasts, influencers and bloggers came together in “The Music City” to test drive the new car model.
Of course, The Knockturnal was on the scene. We were able to get a special look at the Q3 and its new features, while embarking on a day long road trip curated by Audi. We hit several business throughout Nashville and middle Tennessee that you’ll definitely want to check out if you’re ever in the area.
The first stop was a beautiful mural of the Q3 pictured above. It was painted on the side of a building in downtown Nashville by Peter Chang and Brandon Hill, two artists who make up a D.C. based art company called No Kings Collective.
Created with a massive projector, a few stencils and some paint that has a minimum 60 years life-span, the mural took a total of 3 days to complete. It’s at the corner of 3rd and Church St. in Nashville and will be up for the next three months.
The next stop was Five Daughters Bakery. With many locations throughout the south, Nashville is home for the family owned business. They are famous
Toppings range from brownie batter to bacon to their signature sweet, buttercream filling. We were lucky enough to receive an inside look of their specialized donut making process and even got to make our own customized donuts to take home.
Now, this may not be your usual pit stop during a road trip but about an hour outside of Nashville in the small town of Eagleville — seriously, there’s a population of less than 1,000 — lies TruBee Honey, a bee farm. If you’re allergic to the stinging insects then this may not be the best place to visit; however, if you’re like me and always wanted to try on one of those cool astronaut-esque suits that the beekeepers wear then this is definitely a must-see.
The farm is owned by Jeff and Laura, who just go by Jeff and Laura, where they sell jars of raw, local honey and all-natural beeswax products like lip balm, beeswax rubs for dry skin and honey straw snacks. The best part is when we all got to go out in to the fields in our beekeeping suits and actually see how the bees operate in their respective hives up close. Once you get past the nerve-wrecking buzzing sounds in your ear, it can be a fun experience.
