American Express Hosted “A Celebration of Women with Drive” with F1 ACADEMY in Miami

American Express took the checkered flag last week hosting a women empowerment event with F1 ACADEMY.

Last month, American Express announced its official partnership with the F1 ACADEMY for the 2024 season. After being a strong advocate for women in sports, American Express brought this partnership to Temple House in Miami to host “A Celebration of Women with Drive.” The event featured a panel, delicious food by Caja Caliente, and a performance by Camila Cabello. Not to mention, the music was by none other than DJ NOODLES. The girl power was alive and well at Temple House.

The Food

Upon entering, we were met with bites downstairs, upstairs, and even on the outdoor terrace. These delicious dishes were served by Chef Monica “Mika” Leon from Coral Gables-based Caja Caliente. Caja Caliente is a local Miami woman-owned small business, serving family-favorite Cuban classics, reinvented.

American Express decided to highlight Caja Caliente on the livery for each market where Formula One Academy races take place.

The Panel

In the main room, a panel of powerful women awaited us. Camila Cabello, F1 ACADEMY managing director Susie Wolff, Caja Caliente owner Chef Mika Leon, and television personality Natalie Pinkham took the stage to discuss the impact of women in sports and business. The crowd was thrilled to receive their pearls of wisdom!

F1 ACADEMY’s Susie Wolff, American Express’ Shiz Suzuki, F1 ACADEMY driver Jessica Edgar, and Natalie Pinkham also took some time to discuss their new global partnership while unveiling the new custom livery featuring Caja Caliente’s logo and other fun details. British driver Jessica Edgar proudly represented American Express in the #17 car, operated by Rodin Motorsport, and sported a custom American Express race suit.

The Performance

Award-winning artist Camila Cabello took the stage to reveal a first look at the visuals of her album as well as performing “I LUV IT” and another new song acoustically. The crowd loved Camila as she sang and shared more about where her new song originated from. Camila shared that she wanted her new album to feel like an ode to Miami, the city she grew up in.

Overall

American Express stood firm on their global commitment to support the next generation of women drivers and small business owners. From DJ NOODLES to Caja Caliente to the incredible women on the panel, this was truly a toast to an exciting partnership.
