Aesop Rock Premieres Single From Upcoming Album ‘The Impossible Kid’

Rhymesayers Entertainment’s in house lyrical madman, and underground legend Aesop Rock comes through with a new album announcement tied to a single and music video.

Aesop’s always been a weird emcee, immediately reflective of his personality. He’s made a low-key legendary career from pulling together metaphors like he’s rummaging through the basket of a shredder. This commitment to redefining the “rewind factor” in Hip Hop has forced him to push a personal bar that was already set way above the reach of the average emcee.

His catalog has shown incomparable growth from the days of Music for Earthworms and Appleseed, to Bazooka Tooth and Skelethon, where Aes began to stretch his influence into the production with a heavy hand. As of late, aside from collaborative projects with Homeboy Sandman and Rob Sonic, the brainy emcee has remained rather silent. Setting his sights on honing his production skills, his output has remained minimal and now this track “Rings” comes off as the culmination of all that meditative work.

The track’s production is tight and hugs Aes’s vocals in a rather comfortable way despite the beat being on the noisy side. His flow is clean and most definitely comes off more urgent and straightforward in comparison to what was on the records he released back in the day. Lyrically, he’s still sharp and untouchable, throwing his vocabulary around like a medieval morningstar. There’s no doubt in my mind this record will be top notch, and if you want to pre-order it you can visit Rhymesayers’s Site.
