Backstage Beauty Report: ADEAM SS17 At NYFW

New York Fashion Week kicked off this Tuesday, so of course we went backstage to get the exclusive on shows like ADEAM.

ADEAM is a Japanese-American fashion brand founded in 2011 by Hanako Maeda who found inspiration from her hometowns of Tokyo and New York. We went backstage with Cutler/ Redken Salon to get the latest on their hair and make up for the show.

Lead makeup artist Sada Ito, who is also NARS International lead makeup stylist, spoke with us about the look:

Can you talk about the inspiration?

The inspiration is Japanese calligraphy, so I draw the eyebrow almost like Japanese Calligraphy. Strong eyebrow, and then all the models are young and fresh so I put orange red lipstick to give them energy.

What are some of the products you’re using today?

The lipstick is called Heatwave.

NARSskin Luminous Moisture Cream

NARSskin Optimal Brightening Concentrate Soft Matte Complete Concealer

Lead hairstylist Takayuki Shibata gave us the run-down of the look

Can you talk about the inspiration behind the look?

The fabrics of the collection are very light like air, so I want to make the hair look super natural, but something special in the back, very beautiful and still sophisticated, nothing crazy just a little bit of texture. The inspiration is little bit like dancers, but not too much. It’s all about texture.

Can you talk about some of the products that you used?

We used Redken Full Frame 07 for the base and the texture and we also used Redken Wind Blown for texture as well.
